IDENTITY PRESERVED — The community participation project for SITU FESTIVAL 2025, organized by Blue Institute of Futures, Fondazione Oelle, Fondazione Brodbeck, and the Municipality of Ficarra, was developed in collaboration with visual artist and photographer Margot Kalach. It involved collecting the footprints of Ficarra’s inhabitants using silver photographic paper and analog printing techniques. In a performative act, together with the people of Ficarra, these prints were preserved in olive oil jars, honoring the region’s rich olive oil tradition and symbolizing the town’s resilience against disappearance—like many others in Italy. This “Ficarra Preserve” embodies collective memory and cultural resistance, and was exhibited at the Olive Oil Museum of Ficarra.
