Pum, Pam, Pim is a reflection on the formation of contemporary identity through unstable, fragmented, and artificially produced visions. In the exhibition, Camila Curiel presents a complex, composite universe — a constellation of traces and fragments where the intimate and the collective coexist without resolution — at Gallery Room (Via Pietro Calvi 2, Milan). The show opens to the public on 25 June 2026 at 7:00 PM. The exhibition title pays homage to Alejandro Rebolledo’s novel of the same name, a cult work that depicts late‑century Caracas through the perspective of a generation marked by uncertainty, social inequality, and the inability to imagine the future. The city appears as an intermittent presence, suspended between reality and fiction, lived experience and imagined elaboration, resurfacing through materials, memories, and visual traces. Traversing the geographic and emotional distance from Venezuela, her country of origin, Curiel constructs a landscape where memory, belonging, and desire continually overlap. The Venezuelan capital does not appear as a location to be represented but as a matter that settles into materials, figures, bodies, and narratives, becoming a persistent force that transcends geography and time. This tension takes shape in La città che non c’è (2026), a large material collage that offers a layered vision of the Venezuelan capital. As in Rebolledo’s novel, where the city appears from above as a green paradise that hides deep contradictions, the work accumulates materials, visual traces, and memory fragments into an unstable composition. The entire exhibition space takes on the contours of a territory in constant transformation. Bricks scattered through the gallery evoke both construction and ruin, while wax forms emerge like relics from an indefinite time: breasts transforming into fruit, shoes fused with feet, hybrid presences that defy stable classification. The mise‑en‑scène is surrounded by Mea Culpa (2026), a series of sculptures reflecting on how we arrived here — into this deep black hole called the present. We all point fingers, talk, and say how the world should be, but words do not fill the voids and we do not have enough fingers to keep this boat afloat. Whose fault is it — yours, theirs, or mine? The works do not present themselves as finished objects but as temporary condensations of memories, desires, and political tensions. Wax preserves imprints, bricks hold traces of building and collapse, and collages accumulate elements that never find a definitive form. Each piece seems to emerge from a slow process of sedimentation, as if the city, rather than being remembered, keeps resurfacing. Influenced by her experience as a graphic designer, art director, and photographer, Curiel develops visual universes that reflect on representation as a space for resistance, vulnerability, and transformation. Part of the exhibition focuses on defining models of Venezuelan femininity and the mechanisms through which the female body is represented and coded. The female figures are generated by artificial intelligence systems from prompts developed by the artist. Although they appear as portraits of real people, these presences do not correspond to existing subjects but to algorithmic constructions that condense cultural stereotypes, collective desires, and aesthetic models. Through manipulation, superimposition, and alteration of images, Curiel interrogates how identity and representation are produced, consumed, and transformed.” - Francesca De Chiara. In Pim, Pam, Pum. Curated by Lorena Gonzalez Inneco. Project developed for group exhibition Proyecto Creadoras. Multimedia installation that explores the subtle line between reality and fiction in the digital age. It originates from a social experiment conducted in 2023, where Sofía, a fictional profile created with AI was generated on the dating app Tinder. She maintained 147 conversations. Only 4 users questioned the authenticity of the profile. The experiment and its results fuel this installation: the narratives of these conversations comprise the central audio on display. Sofía is not real, but she embodies fragments of all of us: data and pixels anchored in humanity. Real or fake, she provided comfort and companionship, but the experiment raises unsettling questions: did users believe Sofía was real, or, aware of her falsehood, did they accept interacting with a lie? Are we more connected and more alone than ever? Ir artificial more real than ever? The conversations reveal profound themes: beauty, equality, loneliness, the desire for love, and the conception of women in society. Is Sofía an ideal, an echo of the desires of others? The installation presents two perspectives: in the digital realm, Sofía is changeable and anonymous, a figure who observes from above, supreme and absolute. In the physical realm, she is abstract, empty, a “green-screen” waiting to be filled, or a virgin, who hides all her secrets behind a veil. Beside the sculpture, a tower of paper is exhibited, representing the infinity of conversations carried out, indicating the names of the participants, and upon it, a reliquary, which guards Sofía’s face, accompanied by a glass slipper, because at the end of the day, that is what they desire: another Cinderella. Curated by Efrain Ugueto. A snow globe, the perfect souvenir from a well-deserved vacation. The Ávila is the mountain that represents and protects Caracas. This picture of the mountain is quite different; it is not real. It is an AI-generated image that tricks the eye. It is a representation of what the Ávila is, created with millions of online references by our personal assistant and newest adoration: artificial intelligence. Will my children get to know this mountain, or will they only be able to see the representation of a representation? For Western civilization, life has never been so easy. But what is the effect of this comfortableness? Will the world as we know it cease to exist? Will this snow globe become a distant memory of what never was? Only fools dare to wonder, or are we wondering fools? Written with Hollywood’s typeface, Wonderful seats at the top of the mountain, making a reference to that city built of dreams and drywall, where everything is possible, but rarely thigs become. This snow globe is one of many currently in production as a collection. Using AI-generated images, FAKE LIES presents these flyers of fake lost people, things, and animals, that created a specific narrative in each context, creating confusion. This project simulates the critical situation we are living in on social media and in general with Fake News. Sometimes with a joke, others with serious statements, FAKE LIES have so far touched hundreds of people worldwide (Milano, Miami, and Madrid). The main theme of the exhibition was to answer the question of “How could be the Venezuela of the future?”. For this opportunity I participated with three artworks: An installation, and two kind of ready-made sculptures.&nbsp;A country where everything changes, and nothing is forever (except the green). A territory where nothing is defined, or at least set in stone. In this unstable reality where symbols are changed like dirty socks, even the most established is at risk of extinction. If they changed the flag, the coat of arms, and history, why not the country's name? I asked the artificial intelligence what Venezuela was like, and it responded with chaotic imagery, green mountains, and chaos. Imagine is a compilation of all those common places Venezuela is for the collective mind. Are we a common place? Are we just a big Favela? Is that we think of us? and the Municipality of Ficarra, was developed in collaboration with visual artist and photographer Margot Kalach. It involved collecting the footprints of Ficarra’s inhabitants using silver photographic paper and analog printing techniques. In a performative act, together with the people of Ficarra, these prints were preserved in olive oil jars, honoring the region’s rich olive oil tradition and symbolizing the town’s resilience against disappearance—like many others in Italy. By exploring constructed realities, the work aims to questions our notions of truth, suggesting that a singular, objective truth may not exist. These illusions, whether consciously or unconsciously embraced, help us navigate the complexities of life, making existence more bearable. Like the veil of art and religion, these artifices may be essential in obscuring a harsher reality, the “ugly truth” that lies beneath the surface. Today, algorithms and the cyborg reality we are living have fabricate unique and customized versions of what we perceived as reality, delivering comfortable truths to each of us.&nbsp; It’s impossible to experience an objective reality. The installation presents three fabricated perspectives: a fake live recording in which the green screen is animated, a fake mirror, and a mysterious entity. We inhabit an intermediate place where truth reveals itself as a construction between illusion and presence.
